Tales of Zale is back! And after 10 years, the characters are in need of new voices. Check out this page for info on individual characters and submit your audition via the form at the bottom.
Requirements:
- You must have your own mic and recording setup, and be able to provide recordings without background noise.
- You must be comfortable with and able to be available for online recording sessions with the Director and other voice actors.
ZALE
Gender: Male
Voice Age: 10
Voice Note: Androgynous (any gender may audition)
Zale is a curious fox cub on a quest to find his long-lost family. He’s positive to a fault, which at its best helps him see the good in others – but at its worst, causes him to ignore warning signs and walk right into the jaws of danger.
Audition Lines:
(Innocent): I'm not a stranger. I'm Zale!
(Proud): It's a compass! Shows me where to go. Or... It's supposed to at least. (Secretive) I'm on a quest, you see!
(Energic): We'll split up then! You go get a view from above.
(Comforting): I... Could help you find him, if you want. I am still "it" after all.
(Wallah): *Laugh*
ALBA
Gender: Female
Voice Age: 11
Voice Note: Young, but not too shrill!
Alba is a cautious barn owl, afraid of most things – especially the dark. Her insecurities often hold her back, but she gains a sense of self-worth by looking out for Zale on his adventure.
Audition Lines:

Q&A:
Q: Is the work paid?
A: Yes! While it is indie, the work is paid on a per-line basis. Rates can be discussed in case of a successful audition.
Q: What about the old voice actors?
A: Previous voice actors have been contacted and are free to audition as well. However, since the original castings were made more than 10 years back, people's situations - as well as the project's needs - have changed, and so we're starting fresh.
Q: I feel like I've seen some more recent clips with some entirely different voice actors though, what's that about?
A: Since the initial web-series, Tales of Zale has gone through extensive development as a TV-series. However, as the funding system in Denmark has stalled, we've decided to return to the indie roots for now. Before then though, we were having scratch voice actors fill in the roles - those are the ones you've been hearing in the clips. It's all a longer story - there'll be a post with more details about it further down the line!
Q: I'm in a different time zone - is that an issue?
A: Totally fine - we'll find ways to work with individual schedules. It's your voice and acting that is most important!
